Parts Warranty

Limited Parts Warranty & Return Policy

Each part, component and accessory purchased from F & A Autos & Salvage, on or after November 6, 2009 is warranted as follows:

1.    A (fifty) 50% cash deposit is required for orders where parts must be removed, or ordered from other sources. A (ten) 25% Restocking Fee per item will be charged if order is cancelled.

2.    Exchange parts must be turned in at the time of purchase, or a core charge will be made.  The core charge will be refunded if the exchange parts are brought in within 10 days of the date of purchase.  The refund of the core charge will not include sales tax.

3.    Engines are guaranteed against rod knock, cracked block, and excessive smoking within 30 days of purchase.  Engine accessories are not guaranteed.

4.    Transmissions are guaranteed to work properly and gears are guaranteed to be in good condition at the time of purchase and 30 days after.  F & A is not responsible for improper installation or usage after time of purchase.  There is no guarantee for labor to install or remove.

5.    Parts not defective may be returned within 2 days from date of purchase unless otherwise stated at time of purchase.  These parts are subject to acceptance by F & A and are subject to 20% handling charge if accepted.  Parts other than those originally sold or which have been altered or damaged are not accepted for return.  Body sections which have been cut off to order are not returnable.  To be returnable the parts must be in the same condition as when sold.  It is agreed that the sole determiner of condition for return is F & A.  Buyer agrees to any inspection or method in inspection dictated by F & A and agrees that F & A has the right not to accept returned used merchandise if in F & A discretion, F & A believes condition of used merchandise has changed from the date of sale.

6.    Rear ends are guaranteed to work properly, gears are guaranteed to be in good condition, bearings are guaranteed not noisy at time of purchase. 

7.    No refunds on electrical parts including but not limited to starters, generators, alternators, wiring harness, etc.

8.    Radiators and heaters are guaranteed not to leak at time of purchase.

9.    Claims of adjustment due to defective parts must be made within 48 hours of time of purchase, unless other specific arrangements were made at time of purchase.

10.  There will be no refund of Michigan State Sales Tax on returned cores according to the Michigan State Sales Tax ruling on trade-ins & exchanges.

11.  All used merchandise must be inspected by buyer for defects or safety hazards.  Seller states the he/she in no way guarantees or warrants used merchandise for apparent or non-apparent safety hazards and affirmatively states that used merchandise sold may have safety hazards, and it is the responsibility of buyer to inspect for actual or latent safety hazards or hire an expert to inspect.

12.  Buyer affirms that before he entered into this agreement, the seller requested that he examine the goods, to ascertain whether there were defects in the goods which would make them unacceptable to him; the seller afforded to buyer an adequate opportunity to make such examination before he/she entered into this agreement and that he has examined the goods as fully as he desires for the purchase of determining whether there are defects.

13.  WARRANTY CONDITIONS: F & A Autos & Salvage, Inc. makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the product(s) sold.  F & A further makes no warranty, express or implied as to merchantability or to fitness for purpose sold.  There are no warranties which extend beyond the description on the face hereof.  The buyer expressly agrees that his sole and exclusive remedy for breach of warranty is repair or replacement of the defective goods by the seller.  F & A shall not be liable, under any circumstances, for consequential or incidental damages.
